RASTAFARIAN COUNCIL OF GHANA TO HOST FIRST EVER NATIONAL RASTAFARI CONFERENCE

The Rastafari Council of Ghana will host its first ever National Rastafari
Conference on Tuesday 2nd March,2016 at the MUSIGA main Hall.

The public is invited to this memorable conference with the theme: The Role of Rastafari in Repatriation and National Development. There will be other important topics also with various speakers and scholars. The keynote address will be delivered by Nana Kobina Nketia V, Paramount Chief of Essikadu in the Western Region.

The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday 2nd of March 2016 with an opening prayer, spoken words/poets, Nyahbhingi praises and many more activities. It also marks the seven years anniversary of the Rastafari Council, founded in March 2, 2009. “It’ll be a great opportunity to learn about Rastafari and their way of life, Repatriation and the impacts of Rastafari on National Development,” says Ahuma- Ocansey (Daddy Bosco) President of the Rastafari Council of Ghana.

This conference is a call to organize and centralize all Rastafaris in Ghana and to share information on the activities of Rastafari in Ghana and beyond. It is expected to be attended by Rastafari delegates from around the country as well as delegates from Cote D’Voire, Nigeria, Southern Sudan, Canada and the United Kingdom among others.

The Rastafari Council of Ghana was
launched on the 2nd of March, 2009 at the Ghana International Press Center in Accra, Ghana. The day also marks the anniversary of the Battle of Adowa during which His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I defeated the Italy in a war in Ethiopia.
