KRISHNA|| THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD

Krishna is The Supreme Personality of Godhead, the absolute God in Hinduism. There are many stories in various versions of the Hindu epic- "Mahabharata" which categorically describes how The Supreme Personality "died".

According to the Mahabharata, the
Kurukshetra war resulted in the death of all 100 sons of Gandhari. On the night before Duryodhana's death, Lord Krishna visited Gandhari to offer his condolences. Gandhari felt that Krishna knowingly did not put an end to the war, and in a fit of rage and sorrow, Gandhari cursed that Krishna, along with everyone else from yadu dynasty, will perish after 36 years.Though he himself knew it and wanted it to happen because He felt that the Yadavas has become very haughty and arrogant (adharmi). So Krishna ended Gandhari's speech by saying Tathastu -- so be it.

Later on, The Lord was once reposing under a tree with His feet crossed. A hunter from far
afar saw the feet moving and thought it was a deer and so he pulled the arrow and shot at it. After seeing that it was Lord Krishna, the hunter cried and pleaded for mercy but the Lord smiled and forgave him and told him that it was all His plan and make him remember the story of previous a birth.

His Divine Grace Srila A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, a spiritual master and the founder - acharya of  The International Society for Krishna Consciousness explained the trancendental nature of Krishna's body and why Krishna, God never dies.

"His body is not affected by karma - sinful reactions. Krishna is not under the influene of maya or material nature as He affirms in Bhagavad Gita chapter 7 :12 that - 'ye caiva sattvika bhava rajasas tamasas ca ye matta eveti tan viddhi na tv aham tesu te mayi'.
'All states of being-be they of goodness, passion or ignorance-are manifested by My energy. I am, in one sense, everything-but I am independant. I am not under the modes of this material nature'.

So, for the condition soul, there is the reign of  'tri-guna' (the three moods of material nature) and 'maya' ( illusion) - but for the Supreme Personality of Godhead there is no such thing. His body is 'Sac-Cid- Ananda Svarupa' ……all knowing, all blissful and eternal nature.

This theory of  'leaving of body ' or 'dieing' cannot be associated with Krishna, God Himself. He is the absolute Supreme God and all other incarnations like Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva and Narayana are all but His own expansions" - Hare Krishna.
